As a Duty Manager at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring exceptional service and customer satisfaction. You will manage staff, handle customer inquiries and complaints, and maintain operational standards. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar during your shift.
    • Ensure all areas of the establishment are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards.
    • Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
  2. Staff Supervision:
    • Lead, motivate, and support the team, providing guidance and feedback.
    • Conduct daily briefings to communicate important information and set expectations.
    • Assist in training new staff members and ongoing staff development.
    • Manage staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
  3. Customer Service:
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Ensure guests have a positive experience by maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
    • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements as necessary.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Assist with cash handling, including opening and closing tills, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
    • Monitor sales and manage inventory to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
    • Assist in budget management and cost control initiatives.
  5. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards.
    • Conduct regular checks and audits to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests.
    • Handle emergency situations effectively, including first aid, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records, including staff performance, inventory, and financial reports.
    • Assist with ordering supplies and managing vendor relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in the hospitality industry.
