The Loopy Shrew is seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes meet the high standards expected by our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Section Management: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within your designated section.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory, including ordering and stock control for your section.
  • Training & Development: Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Menu Development: Contribute to the creation and development of new dishes and menus, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
  • Efficiency: Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner, maintaining the flow of service during busy periods.


  • Experience: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or a similar role in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen.
  • Skills: Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating exceptional dishes. Proficiency in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene practices, and ingredient management.
  • Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and precision in all aspects of food preparation and presentation.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications.
  • Experience in a similar establishment or within the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients.
